Posted by Localstreet businesses with a claimed or Verified listing, or by local employers who give their name and how to apply; those are checked by a person before they go up. No fees to apply, no "starter kits", nothing under the National Minimum Wage, no commission-only or work-from-home money schemes.
From landlords and letting agents: commercial space only — homes and rooms aren't listed. Give the address, size and rent. Never ask for a deposit before a viewing.
Items and notices 14 days, jobs 30 days (or until their closing date, if sooner), space to let 60 days. Before a post ends we can email you a one-tap renew link; after that it leaves the board.
Weapons (including knives and replicas), drugs, medicines, alcohol, tobacco and vapes, animals and pets, counterfeit or stolen goods, adult content, gambling, dating, homes or rooms to rent, jobs that charge applicants, other people's personal details, hate, harassment or threats, and anything illegal. Scams are removed and the number is blocked.
Every post is checked before it goes up — automatically, and by a person when anything is unclear. Posting needs a UK mobile we text a code to, and a postcode in the borough the post appears in.
Every ad and gig has a "Report" link. Reports are looked at by a person; a post with several reports is hidden until then. You can also email hello@localstreet.co.uk.
Meet somewhere public, see the item before paying, and never pay a deposit to someone you haven't met. Localstreet doesn't handle payments between people and can't guarantee items or services.
Promoting an ad costs £1.99 for 7 days at the top of its board. It starts as soon as you pay, so the 14-day cancellation right doesn't apply once it's running. Localstreet is run by Elena Mocanescu.
